Governor Tim Pawlenty Declares October "General Aviation Appreciation Month" in Minnesota

The Alliance for Aviation Across America, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the National Business Aviation Association, and the National Association of State Aviation Officials commended Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty's recent proclamation declaring October "General Aviation Appreciation Month." The proclamation highlighted the importance of the 155 airports, 13,529 pilots, and 7,806 general aviation aircraft found throughout communities in Minnesota. General Aviation contributes $2.9 billion or $595 per capita to the state's economy, ranking Minnesota 9th on the list of states with the highest general aviation impact per capita.

Governor Chris Christie Declares September 29, 2010 "Aviation Awareness Day" in New Jersey
The Alliance for Aviation Across America, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the National Business Aviation Association, and the National Association of State Aviation Officials welcomed the news that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed a proclmation declaring September 29, 2010 "Aviation Awareness Day" in the state of New Jersey. The proclamation cited the important role general aviation plays in the succes of many businesses and farms in New Jersey, as well as how it improves the lives of New Jersey residents by providing disaster relief. Mayor William Flaute of Riverside Ohio Declares November "General Aviation Appreciation Month"

The Alliance for Aviation Across America welcomed news that Mayor William Flaute of Riverside Ohio signed a resolution declaring November as "General Aviation Appreciation Month." The Resolution made reference to the critical role general aviation plays in the lives of Ohio citizens as welll as the operation of businesses throughout the state, farms, and the community of Riverside. Governor Bill Richardson Declares September "Aviation and Aerospace Appreciation Month" in New Mexico

The Alliance for Aviation Across America, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the National Business Aviation Association, and the National Association of State Aviation Officials commended New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson's recent declaration naming September "Aviation and Aerospace Appreciation Month." The proclamation highlighted the importance of New Mexico's 51 publicly-owned airports and more than 4,000 general aviation pilots that help drive support industries such as tourism, police and fire protections, agriculture, and businesses across the state. Jim Doyle Declares July 26-August 1, 2010 "Wisconsin Aviation Week"
National aviation organizations thanked Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle for declaring July 26-August 1, 2010 "Wisconsin Aviation Week." The proclamation, which was signed last week, highlights the 132 public use airports around the state, as well as that aviation in Wisconsin contributes $3 billion in economic activity and is responsible for 41,000 jobs across the state. Groups Commend Kentucky Governor Steven Beshear for Declaring July "General Aviation Appreciation Month"

The Alliance for Aviation Across America, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), and the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) praised Governor Steven Beshear for recently declaring July "General Aviation Appreciation Month" for the state of Kentucky. The proclamation highlights the $1.75 billion in economic activity and thousands of jobs that general aviation provides to the state of Kentucky, as well as the fact that communities throughout the state depend on these aircraft and airports for a host of importance resources, including medical care, law enforcement and tourism. Westchester County Proclamation Recognizes Benefit of Local Airport
On May 20th, Westchester County (NY) signed a proclamation declaring Westchester Airport a “vital local resource and a strategic local member of the community.” Westchester Airport alone is home to over 80 businesses, sustains 1,300 jobs, and provides $649 million in economic impact. Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen Announces April “General Aviation Appreciation Month”

General Aviation Groups Applaud Arkansas Governor's Support for Aviation

Mar. 18, 2010: Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe today unveiled a proclamation declaring March 2010 to be “Aviation and Aerospace Appreciation Month” in Arkansas, a move hailed by the Alliance for Aviation Across America (AAAA), the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the Air Care Alliance (ACA), and the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO). ND Lt. Governor Dalrymple Proclaims “North Dakota Aviation Week”; Board Member Henry Ogrodzinski Attends
Mar. 8, 2010: Aviation enthusiasts from across the Midwest gathered at the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium in Fargo from March 7-9.. On behalf of the Alliance, Board Member and National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) President Henry Ogrodzinski attended to witness ND Lieutenant Governor Jack Dalrymple proclaim this week “North Dakota Aviation Week”. To educate event-goers on the work we do here at the Alliance, Ogrodzinski followed up with a presentation, emphasizing general aviation’s importance to the state. Proclamation by Mayor of Lexington Mississippi Recognizes Importance of General Aviation
March 2, 2010: Mayor Robin McCrory signed a proclamation declaring general aviation "a vital local resource and strategically important member of our community." Mississippi is home to many businesses and communities that are dependent upon general aviation for access to medical treatment, economic opportunity, disaster relief and a wide range of critical resources. The proclamation made note of the educational institutions and aviation organizations which employ 1,563 and have an economic impact of $860 million on the state of Mississippi. Feb. 18, 2010: During a Vermont Aerospace & Aviation Association (VAAA) Open House, Vermont Governor Jim Douglas signed a proclamation declaring February as “General Aviation Appreciation Month”, highlighting the significance the industry has on Vermont’s statewide economy. The VAAA is a division of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce which manages this association in partnership with Lt. Governor and VAAA Chair Brian Dubie, who also serves as National Chair of the Aerospace States Association.
